High School Volleyball Action

For the North Bay League, Maria Carrillo was the stand-out placing #1 in NBL (14-0), #2 in North Coast Section Division 2 (30-7), and finishing #15 in California Division 2.

For the Sonoma County League, Sonoma Valley took the #1 spot in SCL (11-1), #4 in North Coast Section Division 3 (27-8), and finishing #26 in California Division 3.
Also for SCL in North Coast Section div 3 Analy finished #6 (18-11), and Petaluma finished #7 (18-13)

Empire Volleyball Club Spring Season

The Empire Spring Season is a new program being introduced this year.  Empire is going to help grow the sport of volleyball in Sonoma COunty for female athletes from 3rd-8th grades.
These low cost AAU teams will practice once per week with parent volunteer coaches under direction of empire Volleyball club staff.
Families of young athletes who are looking to explore club volleyball without hte committment of high expense or extensive travel will have an opportunity to register.

Peterson - CCAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year

Keala Peterson, Analy High School graduate, becomes first female student-athlete in SSUs history to earn conferences top academic award that is presented to one male and one female each year.

Last December Peterson was also tabbed as the Capitol One Division II Academic All-American of the Year for the NCAA Division II Volleyball, which is the nations top scholastic honor, voted on by the nations sports information directors.

Competition Heats Up

Sonoma County offers some options for highly competitive girls leagues.

These leagues seek out tournament competition and their season typically runs 5-8 months.
